Spring time sport climbing action.

I am just back from sportclimbing in Catalunya on my way to Greenland. I had mainly bouldered throughout the whole winter so it was a nice transition to get back on the rope and get fit before hitting bigger walls in Greenland.

The highlight of the trip for me was many jam sessions, some nice assado (Barbeque in Spanish) with Argentinean friends and… the ascent of “la Reina Mora” 8c+ which is for me one of the most beautiful line in the sector of El Pati, Siurana. It starts on the crack of ”La rambla” and then it just keeps going straight following the natural line of the cliff all the way to the top. It’s a mega endurance route with almost no rests and a few nice crack finger locks, which was ideal to keep my crack climbing skills sharp.

I was late in the season to climb it so it made it challenging for me to deal with the heat and the constant change in the humidity. After about 15 tries spread over a month, I was finally able to gain enough stemina to unrope at the top and walk down from the other side making the second ascent of the route.
